PRESERVAÇÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO MUSICAL: ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE O ACERVO DO LABORATÓRIO DE ETNOMUSICOLOGIA DA UFPA

RESUMO

A pesquisa aborda a preservação do patrimônio musical, destacando a importância de métodos específicos para manter o registro de práticas musicais, especialmente em contextos culturais diversos. Com foco no acervo do Laboratório de Etnomusicologia da UFPA (LABETNO), o estudo examina desafios curatoriais e éticos, com o objetivo de descrever o processo de preservação dos acervos, identificar estratégias eficazes e explorar questões éticas relacionadas às culturas representadas. Além disso, investiga metodologias para a documentação e preservação digital de arquivos musicais, visando garantir sua acessibilidade e longevidade. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa se caracteriza como um estudo de caso, com visitas in loco ao acervo para coleta de dados e diálogo com os profissionais responsáveis. A investigação também incluiu visitas a instituições renomadas em São Paulo, como o Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros da USP e o Instituto de Artes da UNESP, para análise comparativa. Foram realizadas ações de catalogação de coleções físicas e digitais no LABETNO, abrangendo coleções como: Coleção Curuaia e Quilombo Itacuruçá, além de uma revisão bibliográfica focada na gestão de acervos. O estudo oferece uma base para aprimorar práticas curatoriais, reforçando seu papel na identidade cultural e na memória coletiva.

ABSTRACT

The research addresses the preservation of musical heritage, highlighting the importance of specific methods to maintain the record of musical practices, especially within diverse cultural contexts. Focusing on the collection of the Ethnomusicology Laboratory of UFPA (LABETNO), the study examines curatorial and ethical challenges with the aim of describing the preservation process of collections, identifying effective strategies, and exploring ethical issues related to the represented cultures. Furthermore, it investigates methodologies for documenting and digitally preserving musical archives to ensure their accessibility and longevity. Methodologically, the research is characterized as a case study, involving on-site visits to the collection for data collection and dialogue with responsible professionals. The investigation also included visits to renowned institutions in São Paulo, such as the Institute of Brazilian Studies at USP and the Institute of Arts at UNESP, for comparative analysis. Cataloging actions were carried out for both physical and digital collections at LABETNO, encompassing collections such as the Curuaia Collection and Quilombo Itacuruçá, along with a bibliographic review focused on collection management. The study provides a foundation for enhancing curatorial practices, reinforcing their role in cultural identity and collective memory.
